Branding, themes, and custom domains

Change your logo and colours, choose a public layout, and connect a domain.

Where these settings live

Open Settings in the sidebar. Brandings controls how your public site looks, and Domain Setup controls the address readers use to reach it.

Brand basics

  1. Open Settings → Brandings.
  2. Upload a logo and a favicon from the media library. A transparent PNG works best for the logo.
  3. Set the four brand colours: primary background, primary foreground, secondary background, and secondary foreground.
  4. Save the theme. The changes apply to your public site, not to the workspace interface.
Colour Used for
Primary background The main surface of the public site.
Primary foreground Main text and primary accents.
Secondary background Cards, callouts, and secondary surfaces.
Secondary foreground Text and accents on secondary surfaces.

Public page layout and theme

  • Layout controls the article page structure: standard, minimal, magazine, sidebar, or floating.
  • Theme controls the visual treatment: modern, classic, bold and high contrast, soft and minimal, or monochrome.
  • Both settings are independent of your logo and colours, so you can keep a brand palette across layouts.
  • If your plan does not include branding removal, Narranta branding stays visible on the public site.

Default subdomain

Every workspace starts on a Narranta subdomain, for example {subdomain}.narranta.com. It keeps working after you connect a custom domain, so you can always reach the publication.

Connect a custom domain

  1. Open Settings → Domain Setup.
  2. Enter the domain, for example example.com, and add it.
  3. Create the DNS records Narranta shows in your domain provider.
  4. Return to Domain Setup and choose Verify DNS Records.
  5. Wait for verification and for the SSL certificate to be issued. The Active Domain panel shows both statuses.

Custom domains are a paid-plan feature. If the controls are disabled, the page shows which plan includes them.

Public hosting path

Use the hosting path when you want the publication on a subdirectory rather than the domain root, for example example.com/blog. Choose the subdirectory option and enter the path without slashes.

External hosting and canonical URLs

If an external system serves your articles, set the External Canonical Base URL to that system's address. Narranta then points canonical links at the external page, which avoids duplicate-content penalties when the same article exists in two places.

Tip: Change the domain before you publish widely. Moving a site later is possible, but every external link and search result has to catch up.
